We introduced limited support of Cases with this version of SalesDesktop. Using SalesDesktop, you can:
- Create new Cases
- View and edit existing cases

This version of SalesDesktop cannot display case comments. Also you can neither create attachments to cases nor view existing attachments. Subsequent versions of SalesDesktop Cases will fully support attachments and case comments.
Case numbers:
Case number is a special field: it is being assigned to Cases automatically by SalesForce.com and cannot be changed. When you create a Case using SalesDesktop, it does not have a Case number (because this case is actually not created on SalesForce.com yet). This Case will appear on SalesForce.com with next synchronization. However, SalesDesktop will receive (and display) case number only after second synchronization after the case creation.
- Filters: filter criteria for pick-lists now can be selected from drop-down list instead of typing in values
