Your Simple and Free SalesDesktop Installation Guide

September 22, 2011

In one of our recent posts, we’ve addressed several steps to follow while preparing your Outlook for SalesDesktop installation. Today, we’re going to walk you through the actuall installation and answer possible questions you might have during this process.

  1. Before you run the installation file
  • get an updated Salesforce security token (Enter Salesforce -> go to Setup -> My Personal information -> Click on Reset My Security Token);
  • make sure you have administrative privileges or you are able to enter the administrator’s password when requested.

2.  While running the Installation Wizard (double click on the SalesDesktop.msi)

  • When asked to chose the Outlook profile, pick up the one you want Salesforce to connect with;
  • The rest of the installation process is pretty much usual.

3.  After completion of the Installation Wizard

  • Run your Outlook;
  • Note SalesDesktop Assistant in the lower right corner and click on it to get started;
  • While entering your login details, paste your security token in the end of your password;
  • Don’t forget to check the Save Password checkbox. It will keep you from logging in every time you start SalesDesktop.
