Resolving synchronization conflicts

January 10, 2012

SalesDesktop detects a collision when a certain item has been changed on both your computer and Salesforce since the last synchronization session and these changes differ from each other.
You will be notified about this collision with a pop-up notification window and an exclamation mark over the taskbar icon.

There're several ways a collision can be resolved:

  • You can pick the item copy you want to stay with: check out SalesDesktop values or Salesforce.com values box. The other copy will be replaced accordingly.
  • You can also chose certain fields from both copies and an item will be saved with the combined values.
  • As an option, you can resolve all collisions by using the buttons “SalesDesktop overwrites / Salesforce.com overwrites” at the top of the form.

Alternatively, you might want to skip the collision and resolve it later by opening respective dialog window from the SalesDesktop context menu.
