My team just returned from a trade show and we quickly imported all of our Leads into our Outlook or Entourage email programs, using the business card reader software. Unfortunately, there is no way to easily import this info into SalesForce.com. Why wouldn't Saleforce automate the importing of Vcards or sell a business card scanner that pulls the data right into a Lead or Contact?

It takes SEVERAL HOURS to get all the data right in Salesforce.com, and basically equates to having to enter the data twice: once, for our desktop email clients, and then, for Salesforce,com. I would gladly pay for this capability. We had over 183 Leads between us, and all my team members complained about having to input all these data manually into Salesforce.com, after they had been easily imported into their desktop computer programs.

When I create a task or event in Salesforce.com, there is always a link to an individual item (either Lead, Contact, etc.), and when I sync these events into Outlook, all I get is the subject and (if applicable) a completion date/time.

This means that in Outlook, I wind up with 50 tasks called Email F/U and no idea who I'm supposed to follow up with, unless I go back to Salesforce.com.

I would like to suggest that the Contact field be passed through during Outlook Sync to the Contacts field in the Outlook task or Calendar event. Or, alternatively, at least, include the Contact name as an add-on to the description during sync.

It is too difficult to add email attachments to Case when using Outlook Add to Case. The Add Case or Add Email functions do not include attachments when posting to Salesforce.com. We love Outlook Edition, but in several places it falls short. It was a real disappointment for us to find out that unless you are connected to the Internet and SFDC that you cannot use the 'Send and Add' function in Outlook Edition 2.0. For us, this means having to remember to go into drafts and open "Send and Add" to 30+ emails after a cross country flight. Sometimes, we remember, and sometimes, we don't. When we don't (usually, this is because we got back home at 1am from a week of travel), it costs us.

Removing this shortfall would surely go along way to making life much easier and return the Outlook Edition to the pedestal it had always occupied in sales presentations.

My salespeople are sometimes forgetful, and instead of using the "Send and Add" function on an outgoing email, they just click the "Send" option. Then I lose important past communications. The default with the Outlook plugin should be to ALWAYS "Send and Add" email IF the email recipient is in the Salesforce Contacts database.

Even more likely is that a salesperson forgets to add a received email to the Salesforce database. The default should also be that all emails from a sender, who is in the Salesforce Contacts database, should ALWAYS be added to Salesforce.com.

It would be amazing, if all I had to do is set up my Accounts and Contacts, and then, ALL communications with my Contacts would be recorded.
