Only Selected Contacts should be Synchronized with Outlook

190
PROMOTES

Not all of my contacts could be synchronized with Outlook. Why? Two examples:

  1. Some of them are marked as "deactivated" (contact is dead or left the client, but has not be deleted since there is an important history)
  2. You do not want your Outlook crowded with too many contacts (or, your mobile phone, which you synchronize with Outlook, only support 500 contacts)

Lotus Notes Edition / Outlook Edition - Record to CC and BCC recipients when using "Add Email" / "Send and Add"

40
PROMOTES

Currently, the Lotus Notes Edition does not try to attach emails to CC/BCC recipients when using "Send and Add" or "Add Email". We definitely need this functionality as we would like to track everyone involved in any sales interactions.

Searching for Texts in Word Attachments

110
PROMOTES

We store a large number of Word attachments, for instance, one attachment against each Contact record. It would be useful, if the search facilities allow you to:
  1. Search for a specified text in the Word attachments. For instance, we want to search all attachments held on Salesforce for those containing the word "Christmas"
  2. Search for a specified text in the titles of attachments

Including contact details when using Outlook Sync

80
PROMOTES

When I create a task or event in Salesforce.com, there is always a link to an individual item (either Lead, Contact, etc.), and when I sync these events into Outlook, all I get is the subject and (if applicable) a completion date/time.

This means that in Outlook, I wind up with 50 tasks called Email F/U and no idea who I'm supposed to follow up with, unless I go back to Salesforce.com.

I would like to suggest that the Contact field be passed through during Outlook Sync to the Contacts field in the Outlook task or Calendar event. Or, alternatively, at least, include the Contact name as an add-on to the description during sync.

Want Attachments to be added with Outlook Add Email and Add Case

60
PROMOTES

It is too difficult to add email attachments to Case when using Outlook Add to Case. The Add Case or Add Email functions do not include attachments when posting to Salesforce.com. This leads to a lot of extra work, logging into Salesforce.com, opening the Case, and uploading the attachment. In most cases, without the attachment, the support request email is meaningless.

Outlook - Sending Attachments, Upload, Document Storage Feature

50
PROMOTES

SalesForce is becoming a place, where you keep files organized, when you have the document feature turned on.
Upload attachments when sending from Outlook enables the system to store them in an assigned folder for that client or to be associated as an attached note that is trackable when opened.
