Change Record Owner while Editing the record

2560
PROMOTES

It would be nice to be able to change the record ownership while editing a record - Lead, Opportunity, Account, etc.
It is a bunch of extra wasted clicks for the user to have to go back and click "change" to transfer the record ownership.

Edit Single Fields on Double Click

13980
PROMOTES

I think it would be great when viewing a record (e.g. a contact), you could double click on a specific field to quickly edit its value.
This is faster than having to click "Edit" and then change the value, and then click "Save".

It would improve the end-user productivity if things can be edited quickly on the fly in this way.

'My Watchlist' in Salesforce.com

1690
PROMOTES

I would love to have some kind of bookmark-like functionality in Salesforce.com. The Recent items list just does not do this for me. I sometimes need to keep an eye on a couple of Cases, a Lead, or something I asked someone else to do through a task ... By the time I have done some work, they are all gone from my Recent items list and I need to find them one by one. This way, it is easy to forget something.

I know you could create a task for every single one, but if you are running dashboards, these clutter up the amounts, and thus, the real value of the dashboard itself.

A little button, such as an eye on top of every record, would be perfect. And, then a little eye somewhere on the Homepage that takes me to my Watchlist, any list style view would do.

Next Lead Please! Why go back to the List?

90
PROMOTES

Increase my activity please! After building a profile/list of Leads and drilling down into the actual Lead record (i.e.: name/company level) why not create a "Next" button that allows you to move onto the next Lead in the list rather than having to click the "Back to List: Leads" button, and then drill down into the next Lead record. This would greatly enhance the functionality of Safeforce.com and my sales team's activity and focus. I know that Siebel's Upshot Edition has this feature and I sorely miss it.

We would like to have the ability to modify the columns displayed for the folder views in the document tab.

Printable View: Customize Printable Views

120
PROMOTES

Printable views are not customizable.

The idea here is to be able to manage the content of the printable view through a dedicated button in the Object Page Layout.

It will be possible to:

  1. change the Salesforce.com Log, by Customer logo
  2. create sections, add and remove fields
  3. customize the related objects and columns

Searching for Texts in Word Attachments

110
PROMOTES

We store a large number of Word attachments, for instance, one attachment against each Contact record. It would be useful, if the search facilities allow you to:
  1. Search for a specified text in the Word attachments. For instance, we want to search all attachments held on Salesforce for those containing the word "Christmas"
  2. Search for a specified text in the titles of attachments

Uploading Images of Contacts

90
PROMOTES

I configured Salesforce.com to serve as a Contact management and donor database for OASES, a nonprofit organization (NPO). In addition to storing profiles of donors, the NPO stores profiles of students and volunteers.

I created separate custom objects to collect information specific to each profile type. Due to the volume of students and volunteers that pass through the OASES program, having a facial image (i.e., something similar to a passport photo) of the student and volunteer can be beneficial for security, emergency and auditing reasons. Outside of this particular NPO, this feature could be useful for other Salesforce.com clients. I can see where having an image of a customer can be useful to an outside sales representative to increase familiarity or to a service representative to decrease the barrier of an anonymity of a customer. Having images associated to a service request can be a wonderful asset when trying to assess a problem where words describing the problem cannot provide adequate information.

I would like to recommend that a field be available in the standard and custom objects that allows a user to upload an image. I realize that you will need more feedback with respect to the field limits (e.g. format, dimensions, memory size) for this feature. Perhaps, the programming behind uploading DOCUMENTS could be leveraged. However, in the case of a batch upload, I would like to recommend creating an import tool as well. Perhaps, the technology of Yahoo Photos or Yahoo Flickr could be leveraged. Similarly, I realize that you will need more feedback with respect to the field upload limits (e.g., max batch upload).

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Create some kind of "Briefcase"

30
PROMOTES

Create a way, in which users can create sub-sets of the data they own, without having to set values in the allotted fields or find some complex filters for a view or report. The analogy is taking the files for your current key customers and putting them in your bag, or copying your current documents to a temporary folder. This is different from listing the records recently viewed/modified, which we have now (and is very useful, but for a different purpose).

I have in mind the ability to flag (for example,a button on the header saying "Briefcase") or maybe to drag the header bar to an icon on the left hand panel for the Briefcase, or an additional option on a view, besides the edit and del buttons. Then, by clicking on the icon on the left hand panel, the user could pull up just the records they want to work on.

I would suggest that this might include the obvious Accounts, Leads, Contacts, Opportunities, and maybe, Cases, but, ideally, should also contain the custom objects too. There would need to be a means of getting these records out of the Briefcase too.

Add to Outlook Button included with Save Button

30
PROMOTES

When adding a new Event, I would like there to be a "Save and Add to Outlook" button. Currently, you can just Save the Event, and then, you have to go back into the Event and click on the Add to Outlook button. It would be nice to do both by just one click.

Outlook Plugin should always "Send and Add" Email if its Recipient is in the Salesforce Contacts Database

30
PROMOTES

My salespeople are sometimes forgetful, and instead of using the "Send and Add" function on an outgoing email, they just click the "Send" option. Then I lose important past communications. The default with the Outlook plugin should be to ALWAYS "Send and Add" email IF the email recipient is in the Salesforce Contacts database.

Even more likely is that a salesperson forgets to add a received email to the Salesforce database. The default should also be that all emails from a sender, who is in the Salesforce Contacts database, should ALWAYS be added to Salesforce.com.

It would be amazing, if all I had to do is set up my Accounts and Contacts, and then, ALL communications with my Contacts would be recorded.
